Residential Complex PV-Solar Heating System
Winner
Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd.

A complex PV-solar system combining a solar heating system at the rear of the photovoltaic power generation module was developed and installed on pre-fabricated housings.
The elaborated design and low installation cost were highly evaluated as strong incentive for further installation of the photovoltaic power generation and solar system for newly built housings.

Features of Equipment, Systems and Facilities

A complex solar module provides electricity and hot water. This is a combined module with a PV system and a solar heat collector (water heater). This is the Japan's first commercial combined solar module that generates both electricity and heat.

  • Efficient use of solar energy contributes to reduction of CO2 discharge
This system converts about 10% of solar energy to electricity and about 30% to hot water on an annual average. Accordingly, CO2 discharge is considerably reduced.
    an annual average

  • High economic efficiency
Utility costs will be reduced by both power generation and hot water supply. Cost reduction of the material and construction work, which was realized by this system, also contributes to the economic efficiency.

    Attractive appearance Attractive appearance

  • Attractive appearance
Attractive appearance is provided by concealed piping of antifreeze liquid, and roof integrated PV-solar system with other PV systems.
