High Efficiency Solar System with Direct Heating of the Water
(SWR-300)
Winner
Chofu Seisakusyo Co., Ltd. |
The efficiency of SWR-300 is remarkably improved by direct heating method
without using antifreeze liquid as a heating medium. In this system,
water in the heat collector is directly heated by solar heat.
The effective use of pump reduced electricity consumption, and simplified
the structure design, and this led to reduction of system price and
construction cost.
Their contribution to dissemination of solar system with technological
development on efficiency and cost reduction were highly evaluated.
Features of Equipment, Systems and Facilities
Unique solar system
"Solar thermal water heater" has gained recognition
among consumers as a product of fuel cost saving and environmentally
benign. However, its performance has not changed for a long time
and consumers have lost their interests to renew the system. Under
such circumstances, a new and unique product, which is quite different
from the conventional "solar thermal system", has developed
with concepts of environment preservation, high performance, and
economic efficiency.
Various merits
- Direct heat method increases heat collecting efficiency
by 20%
(compared to the conventional products)
- Intermittent pump operation reduces power consumption by
60%
(compared to the conventional products)
- Use of water instead of antifreeze liquid reduces impacts
to the environment
- Use of a pressure pump that also works as a heat collecting
pump makes high pressure hot water supply available.
- Construction is easy.
The heat collector and hot water tank is connected with a
single pipe.

Pumping water
When a sensor detects a hot water tank is full,
an electric three-way valve opens and water is pumped
up to the heat collecting plate. |
|
Falling water
When the water is boiled in the heat collecting
plate, the electric three-way valve opens and the
boiled water falls into the hot water tank. |
|
Hot water supply
When an outside-air temperature starts falling,
the system stops pumping water and hot water is
kept in the tank. Hot water is provided from a faucet
by pump pressurize. |
