Features of Equipment, Systems and Facilities

A complex solar module provides electricity and hot water. This is a combined module with a PV system and a solar heat collector (water heater). This is the Japan's first commercial combined solar module that generates both electricity and heat.
  • Well-Considered Approach to A Plan
    This project was initiated on the basis of an urge to build up a scheme of introducing PV power generation system for housing under the leadership of housing industries complying with the important national policy of "conservation of regional environment.
    In order to implement this unique plan of installing the PV power generation system as standard equipment to all the 71 houses in the complex, the following approaches were taken:

    • In consideration of harmony with the overall design of housing, various parameters such as exposure to the sun, insolation, orientation, roof slope and appearance were examined for individual houses.

    • Each of houses is designed under the energy-saving specifications, including paired glass, insulator arrangement and floor heating, aiming at reducing the load of air-conditioning and improving the availability.

    • Cost is reduced extensively, by as much as 20 %, through collective purchase, concentrated construction works and revising construction parts.

    • PV modules installed on the top of roof serve as insulators, making the temperatures of the attic "cool in summer, and warm in winter".
