PV and Mini-Wind Power System at a Park "Mizube Plaza Kamoto"
Winner
Kamoto town
Kumamoto prefecture

Features of Equipment, Systems and Facilities

Kamoto-cho installed 30 units of street light at a pack called "Mizube Plaza Kamoto" based on combination of 20 kW PV power generation system, hybrid small PV panels with wind power generators and storage batteries.

PV-generated power is partly stored in batteries so as to be used as power supply for the emergency center in the event of disasters.

The hybrid street light system stores electric power generated in the daytime from solar and wind energy in the battery and use it in the night for lighting.

The lighting device is a stand-alone system, not connected to the utility grid, contributing to he reduction of power cost of the facilities.

It is expected that about 400,000 persons visit the park in a year, and an illustrative panel is installed for PR of new energy to visitors.
