Taiko Wind Power Plant of Enterprise Bureau, Kyoto Prefectural Government
Kyoto Prefectural Government
This is the first wind power plant constructed
in the Western district of Japan, and the largest public wind power
plant operated by public enterprises in Japan. In the plant, a small
light theater, looking like a nomadic cottage, is constructed, and
the local Yasaka Town Office operates the “Wind School Kyoto,”
to raise awareness of the environment and energy among citizens, through
education, etc. The attitude toward “new energy,” “environmental
learning” and “promotion of regional growth”
by the effort to make the most of the local resources constitute a
model for a new approach in public services.
