| This is a health care system
for the elderly that employs both a full pneumatic subsystem
and a cold water circulation subsystem, for the first time in
Japan. The use of the two subsystems in combination has optimized
the space cooling in a home occupied by both care givers and
care receivers. Local governments and enterprises concerned
are highly interested in the system, and this case contributes
to promoting the widespread use of similar systems. This has
been evaluated as a model for snow-based space cooling in the
future. |

Features of Equipment, System and Facilities
In this northern district, it is planned
to use the burdensome snow usually accumulating up to meters, as
energy for space heating in summer. According to the plan, storage
for storing the snow is formed in a building, to store the snow
till summer, and in summer of the space-cooling season, the heat
of the snow is used to cool the spaces of respective rooms. Unlike
the conventional space cooling means of using electric air conditioners,
there is neither the waste heat from the outdoors installed machines
nor the use of chlorofluorocarbons promoting the global warming.
