RDF Power Generation System
Omuta Recycle Power Co., Ltd..
This is a highly efficient power generation system
(20,600 kW) that uses RDF (refuse derived fuel) obtained by processing
the general waste collected from 28 cities, towns, and villages in
the two prefectures of Fukuoka and Kumamoto. Compared with conventional
waste power generation, the system recovers thermal energy from the
waste at higher efficiency, and presents an effective countermeasure
against the regulation of dioxins. This is a leading case of a wide-area
refuse disposal system.
Features of Equipment, System and Facilities
| • |
Highly efficient power generation
 |
A total of 315 tons of RDF is burned
per day, to generate 20,600 kW of power (for about 30,000
households), achieving a generation efficiency of about
over 30%. This generation efficiency is the highest
level compared with the conventional waste power generation
efficiencies of about 10 to 15%. Further, the higher
generation efficiency contributes to a reduction of
carbon dioxide emission. |
