The Foundation has conducted a survey of the actual development and use of new energy in Japan under the guidance of the Energy Conservation and Alternative Energy Policy Division of the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1995 and 1996. In 1995, NEF surveyed new energy facilities of local governments and semipublic corporations and compiled an approximately 270 page long "Report on the Fact Finding Survey of Development and Use of New Energy (Local governments / Semipublic Corporations)".
In FY1996, a survey is being conducted on the new energy facilities of the government and private companies.
