1. 150 kW PV System Installed at Ho-oh High School

Gymnasium Installed with Solar Cell on Roof
Gymnasium Installed with Solar Cell on Roof
Winner: Kibogaoka Gakuen Educational Foundation
Features:A roof-integrated 150 kW PV power generation system installed on the high school's gymnasium. It is used as a power source for air-conditioning and lighting of the gymnasium, and also as educational material for the students. Signs indicating the flux of solar radiation, power generated, and cumulative power generated are helpful to understand the effectiveness of the system. It is the largest solar cell installed in a school in Japan. Constructional designs matching the arched-roof are outstanding. Promotional effects on other educational organizations and municipals have been enormous.
